The new aproach to governing

Dear,

It's our honor to invite you , on behalf of Nis European movement in Serbia and Foundation Fridrih Nauman bureau in Belgrade, to assist the round table "New way of managing the public services", in the chambers of the Regional Chamber of Economy", Dobricka 2, street. The round table will be held on February 8th, starting at 20.00.

During the last decade, in the process of the European Union the intense effort was made in regional and local level in Europe. On the one side this was the reaction on enforcing the central institutions, and in a same time is a result of removing the borders. That way all around the Europe have appeared new ways of local economic and political cooperation.

In Southeast Europe, including Serbia and Montenegro, perspectives of the European future shouldn't be considered reserved only for the government, but also like a possibility for city councils and regions to build a partnership and create strategy for the future. Strengthening local and regional governments and civil society is the point of our effort to achieve this goal.

The guest of this meeting was Manfred Richter, ex member of parliament in Bundestag, who by the 1999. was the mayor of Bremenhafen. He introduces us to a new approach to govern the city and public services.

Topics for experience exchange were:
- Reform of the city government
- Privatization of the public sector
- Getting the outside investments
- Regional development
- Sustainable development
